Infinito Safaris
Infinito Newsletter Volume 1 date June 2009 / issue 1

Welcome to Infinito Safaris first News letter.

We hope to send a letter at least once a month. Doing so we do not just keep in touch, we also give you the little bit of fuel to get going through the next month, dreaming of that never ending Safari experience. Of course the specials are also there to offer you those silly, late notice prices that you can pounce on if you want to.

In this way we will also be able to keep you up to date with specials and cancellation hunts that you might be able to pick up at a much reduced price. We have a link on our first page on our website if you know of anyone else whom would like to subscribe to our newsletter and become part of our subscribers.

As you can see from the picture on your right the kudu's and Impala's are in rut and look in prime condition. The rut is also at the end and is something every hunter must experience. Especially hearing the sound of an impala ram rutting for the fist time at close quarters it will send chills down your spine if you have never heard it before.

Please have a look at our specials below. There are still some open dates in our diaries and airfare looks good at the moment. Also, remember to book early for 2010! Everything indicates that it will be a busy year so get it booked as early as possible to avoid disappointment!

Mozambique - Charters and holidays.

Our adventure to Mozambique delivered some spectacular fishing to say the least. The warm Indian ocean with it's Mozambique current brings in the most spectacular Game fishing you can imagine!
Sailfish, Yellowfin tuna, Dorado and Green Jobfish played along nicely and the bottom fish kept us busy in quite spells. We feasted on fresh fish, the well known Moz. prawns and crayfish. Our lodge have the most perfect view over Tofu bay, and sundowners can be enjoyed in the evening on the veranda reflecting on the days fishing or diving.

Mozambique is a paradise holiday destination with Palm trees, white beaches and gin clear water. The locals are friendly and they know the tourism is vital to their survival, so they look after you. We are offering some special fishing and diving holidays to this part of the world to our friends an  clients, so if this appeals to you, let us know!

Our fishing safaris to this part of the world will mainly be arranged for the October - March periods, when we have a break from hunting! Bear in mind of the following. High season are end of November to middle January, April especially easter weekend and July. Costs do run higher in the high seasons and the weather in Mozambique is tropical throughout the year. Fishing is always good!

Hunt Report

Our year started early in March with our friend Bernard Robinson. He enjoyed it so much this time that altough booked to come twice this year already, he made a plan to come over in August as well, making it a record 10 Safaris in 3 years!

Next came the Swedish family Lindstrom in April who finished a succefull hunt altough they will becoming back for a date with some impala. Stephan got his long overdue Springbok and Katerina shot a gorgeous Zebra stallion through the heart after an hour long stalk with PH Charl.

Our latest hunter Martin Lewis just finished his hunt very succesfully with us in June, shooting  amongst the management animals very good Impala, Blue Wildebeest and Warthog trophies . Our season is really starting off now. Some fortunate hunters can benefit from our specials still as we have some open spots in August, September and October!

SUCCESS STORIES

- Our success story of the month must be Charl’s sailfish that he caught in Mozambique. The fish was tricked into the strike by a Williamson softie trailing a rubber Ballyhoo. The relatively light tackle gave Charl a good work out. The Sailie obliged with some VERY good aerial displays!

- Local hunter Frans Delport shot a very big 62” Kudu bull from one of our hunting areas using a .303 P14 with local manufactured 174gr PMP bullets. This just proves once again that we are amongst the number 1 destinations in Africa for 60” + Kudu bulls. The bull was shot just before dark when Frans and our tracker Solly was on their way back to the pick up point. The cows jumped the road in front of them. The bull came last and stopped in the road just long enough for Frans to make a great shot. Congratulations to Frans for shooting a top trophy!
