Information

The following information is for the first time visitor as well as the experienced hunter visiting Africa for a Safari with Infinito Safaris.

Our information about Dangerous Game hunts in other African countries differ from the info given below. Please contact us for any such requests .

The following information is relevant for a Plains Game hunt with Infinito Safaris in South Africa

1. Arriving in South Africa

    • Clear customs
    • Collect baggage at carousel
    • Ask official where you SIGN for your rifle
    • Proceed to reception hall
    • Reception by Infinito Safaris staff
    • Infinito Staff will guide you to the SAPS firearm office,
    • Filing and receiving your temporary firearms permit,
    • Download your SAP520 form here. SAP520 Form PDF doc. (Right click and save as on your computer)
    • Collecting firearm(s) and ammunition,
    • Proceed to parking lot, OR domestic flights for further travels to other areas.

    2. The drive & vehicles

    • Most of our hunting areas is only a 2 hour drive from Johannesburg airport. Others are 4-5 hours away and one other 10 hours!
    • Domestic or charter flights is available as an alternative to these long drives….
    • Our fleet of vehicles consist of a 2007 DC Toyota 4x4 with air-conditioning and a 1995 Toyota DC 4x4 (hunting vehicle), late model Land Cruiser Pick up truck(hunting vehicle)
    • All guests are collected at the airport in one of our new model vehicles, ensuring a comfortable ride.

    3. Arrival & Accommodation

    • On arrival at the hunting camp/lodge you will be introduced to the staff, and be shown around
    • Some time will be offered for you to take in your new surroundings, refresh, and settle in.

Bedroom

    • Grass Thatched roof chalets.
    • En-suite bathrooms with at least a shower, toilet and wash basin.
    • Flushing toilet and hot water
    • Bed's with linen ( washed before and after every hunt, as well as every second day on safari)
    • Ceiling or standing fans/ Air conditioning
    • Bed side table and lamp.

Living room

    • All camps/lodges have a living area where guests can relax to read or just enjoy the quite.
    • Comfortable sofa's/chairs with cushions.
    • Some camps have entertainment in the living area, like music, television and DVD sets, etc.

Dining room

    • We dine in style even in the bush.
    • Sit down at a table meals, with staff looking after your needs.

Take note that we also offer “back pack” style hunts, for the more adventurous hunters, with very rustic and basic camps as basis to operate from.

All camps are inspected by the tourism authorities of South Africa every three years, to inspect the standard of service and accommodation that is required by those departments.

The whole family is welcome, or just your wife/girlfriend, who ever you bring along, they will be forever gratefull to you.

1. Hunting

    • Infinito Safaris also have hunting rights (totalling about 100 000 acres) on private land in three of the other provinces of South Africa, offer our clients the whole spectrum of the hunting diversity of South Africa
    • All hunting is done walk and stalk, spot and stalk, or ambushing animals.(different areas of course need different methods of hunting)
    • Rifle, Bow, Black powder, and handgun hunters are welcome.
    • We also have access to hunt in the exclusive Greater Kruger conservancies for Dangerous Game.

    2. Taxidermist

    • Reputable and well known taxidermist are used by us
    • Competitive prices
    • We keep track of your trophies
    • More than 10 years in business

3. Payment after the hunt

    • On the last day we visit our offices in Groblersdal, a town in Limpopo, where payment takes place.
    • Credit card machine available at an extra cost of 6% of the whole invoice amount.(Credit card company cost)
    • We prefer cash payment in USD, Pound Sterling or Euro

    4. Departure

    • You came as a stranger and now leaves as a friend.
    • We drop you off at the airport, and make sure you are in the right places, before saying goodbye.

General Information and questions often asked

Extra tours prior and after your hunt?

  • We offer this service to our clients, on a request basis.
  • You inform us what you want to see, and we will quote you an extra price for it
Your Safety
  • We take your safety as a top priority
  • Areas well known to produce trouble, are avoided at all cost.
  • You are 90% of your stay in the middle of the bush, miles away from any humans.
  • Like most other countries, the most crime in South Africa is centred around the metropolises.
Questionnaire
  • A questionnaire will be forwarded to you so that we know what your preferences in your diet are.
  • This is also important as we need to know about any allergies you might have.

Alcohol?

  • Not included in day rate, available in camp.
  • Inform us in advance of any specific requirement.
