Hippo and Crodile

Leopard

Old Spots is another favourite of Charl. The Limpopo province and the lowveldt of Zimbabwe, arguably produces the biggest Leopard in Africa. Each year Infinito Safaris is able to offer one or two of our clients a tag for these elusive super cats. A re-assuring fact to any prospective client is that the tag is issued in his name, and not the outfitters name. This means the outfitter cannot get another tag, and must kill the cat with the client who purchased the tag. If the hunt is unsuccessful, the tag goes onto a waiting list, but the outfitter cannot apply again!

Have no illusions about the difficulty of this hunt, just like in the lowveldt of Zimbabwe, these Leopards have been persecuted by man for more than 100 years. They have gone exclusively nocturnal, and go about their cattle killing business in the dark hours of the night.

This is one of the hunts we offer that requires the most self-discipline from the hunter.. Clients need to know that they might be required to sit still for hours on end, not coughing or sneezing! Charl specialise in night time hunting, and to outwit the wily Mr. Spots is a matter of pride and honour for every P.H. in Africa!

Suggested calibre and bullet choice: .30-06 or bigger with a good quality soft bullet and a good quality telescopic sight!

CITES tag required

This majestic, ancient looking beast is under threat from poachers, and the only legal value that the Rhino generates is from trophy hunting and eco-tourism. It is widely known in conservation circles that trophy hunting is the sole reason why Rhino’s was saved from near extinction.

Typical this fantastic experience will be conducted in one of the large private/government Nature reserves in the province of Natal, Mpumalanga or Limpopo.

Lion

Hunting Lions in South Africa is famously filled with controversy. We keep it simple and straight, and to the point. Currently it is legal to hunt captive bred Lions in South Africa. We offer captive bred Lion hunting in only 1 area in South Africa. This private Nature Reserve is 20,000 acres big and carries 4 of the big Five. We have seen for ourselves that Lions that have been raised in captivity, will kill their own prey within hours of being released in this area. This coupled with some close calls being charged by the 500lbs beast, is all the motivation we need to offer these hunts to our clients with a clear conscience, as long as they know what they are in for.

Method of hunting: Tracking or Baiting

Suggested calibre and bullet choice: .375 or bigger with a good quality soft nose bullet
